The Lampcov Family
Grandma Minnie was born in Lechavitch, a shtetle in Russia. Her father immigrated to the United States and established himself in Detroit before sending for his wife and 5 children (Annie, Fannie, Minnie, Lou, and Sam), around 1917. In Detroit Minnie met polish immigrant Eddie Lampcov, and they were married on January 18th 1925. Together they had three children, Harold being the eldest.
Harold Lampcov was born in 1927 and grew up in Detroit. After moving to Toronto in 1976, Harold and his wife Barbara took over the tradition of making his mother Minnie’s recipe for pickles every year. His great joys are playing golf and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
