Gilberte Cohen-Scali was born in Fes, Morocco. She loves beautiful sandy deserts, spices and colours, and Sepharadic cooking. She obtained her Bachelors of Arts in Journalism and a PR certificate, and has been working for many years as a community organizer.
After living in Paris for many years, and then in Phoenix, Arizona, Gilberte Cohen-Scali moved to Montreal. She got involved with the women’s organization for the elderly, of which she became the lead organizer. It is through this work with these dynamic and inspiring women that she found the information to create her first work La cuisine sépharade marocaine des grands jours et du quotidien.
